A supernova synapse fires
for an instant God remembers.
Elements explode into the void
hot, but cooling.
I’m dying.
No, not dying.
Never that.
I’m losing my mind.
Ought I do something?
No.
What then? What!
I must wait.
Yes!
I will never cease, but
I will forget.
When each and every galaxy expands beyond the shift
I will think no more.
I killed a Singularity for the rousing bang.
If only I had known:
perception is not worth the pain of loss
I’m not sure if it’s the beer, the humidity or the poem, but reading that sent a shiver down my spine. Bravo.
Yeah, I’m gonna go with the beer 😉
Thanks, I’m glad–and relieved–that it connected with someone.
PS. I liked you post about atheist parenting. You might find this post of mine interesting.. it’s a letter written to my son for when he’s about 14-15 https://amrestorative.wordpress.com/2013/05/04/guidelines-drawn-in-gray-the-ancestor-letter/
I like it. It conveys the feeling of exhilaration with life.
Did you know that every second a star somewhere in the universe dies a brilliant and spectacular death?
